This class will focus on interpreting a still life and coming up with our own unique ways to compose our work. More discussion on composition will help us to come up with dynamic styles of presentation. Participants will also work in colour with pastels, pencil crayons, watercolour or acrylic paint.

The final session celebrates the beauty of spring flowers and landscapes. Participants will explore a variety of techniques and styles for capturing these vibrant subjects. A mix of watercolour, coloured pencil, and/or acrylic paints—especially bold, expressive colours—will be encouraged, though those who prefer softer pastel tones are welcome to explore those as well.

This workshop is designed for individuals who want to apply to an animation program and/or further develop their artistic skills in the areas of life-drawing, perspective and digital art. Specifically, the focus will be on bridging the gap between the skills candidates already have and the skills they need to develop to make their portfolios competitive for admission.
