Enactus Okanagan College (TV) is proud to support Archway Society for Domestic Peace with a donation of $7,500, which was made possible by the generous donations of Pushor Mitchell LLP, Okanagan College Faculty Association and Enactus TV.

This donation will be used to support women and families recovering from domestic violence through Enactus TV’s Safe Haven Project. Individuals will receive grants to support housing, along with one-on-one financial coaching provided by Launch Okanagan.

“It is incredibly important as a community to support survivors of domestic violence and provide them with resources that support their dignity, safety and recovery,” said Mackenzie Friesen, Project Manager of the Safe Haven Project. “I am incredibly proud of the work we have done with the Safe Haven Project to accomplish this.”

As part of the Safe Haven Project, individuals from Archway also have access to trauma-informed therapy from Connect Counselling & Therapy, made possible by Doane Grant Thornton Foundation and Enactus TV.

“Thank you to Enactus Okanagan College for their Safe Haven campaign,” said Sydney Feeney, Finance Officer at Archway Society for Domestic Peace. “Their generosity has helped women and children who are victims of domestic violence find safety, connection and hope when they need it most. Providing housing, counselling and support for these individuals ensures they can take steps forward towards healing and strength and help break the cycle of violence.”

Christine Sjolander, associate dean of the Hall School of Business and Entrepreneurship at TV, said the Safe Haven Project reflects the strengths of both the program and its students.

“Enactus Okanagan College continues to demonstrate what our students are capable of when they apply their business education to real community needs,” said Sjolander. “Projects like Safe Haven exemplify the values of Okanagan College: leadership, innovation and social responsibility. We are incredibly proud of the students who drive this work and of the meaningful impact they are creating across the region.”

Enactus Okanagan College is a student-led organization that empowers students to develop leadership skills and make a positive impact through social, economic and environmental initiatives.
