Education Council Spring Election - Faculty Positions (Elected by Acclamation)
Jillian Garrett (Arts Faculty)
Hello colleagues! I have been continuing faculty in Communications since 2007, currently serving as department chair, and am seeking my third term as the Arts representative on Education Council.
As Education Council Chair since May 2023, I have had the opportunity to coordinate several important initiatives intended both to revitalize and modernize Education Council’s procedures and processes, as well as to support the authority and integrity of Education Council within the model of collegial governance legislated by the College and Institute Act.
This is work I am passionate about and hope to have the opportunity to continue in the future. Thank you for your support.
Mary Ann Knoll (Business Faculty)
I have been with Okanagan College for approximately fourteen years, starting as term and then continuing, teaching accounting and business management courses. Prior to joining °µÍøTV, I worked in public practice, industry, and the not-for-profit sectors.
As faculty, I was a member of the CPRC for the Business Portfolio for several years, including serving as vice-chair and chair of the committee. I was part of the internal review team that compiled the Tier III Program Review in 2022 and a member of the committee that compiled the ACBSP Self Study Report in 2024, an extensive process required to maintain the Hall School of Business and Entrepreneurship’s accreditation. These experiences have given me exposure to and appreciation for the complexities of post-secondary education beyond the classroom.
My primary focus in joining the Education Council is to ensure students at Okanagan College have an enriching student experience. Okanagan College’s curriculum offerings and educational policies are a primary determinant. As °µÍøTV continues to face challenges in enrollment, budget, and future direction, I believe that enhancing the student experience remains our most vital goal.
Education Council Spring Election - Support Staff (Elected by Acclamation)
Katrina Green
I bring nearly a decade of experience in post-secondary education, with a strong focus on admissions, recruitment, and strategic enrolment management. Throughout my career, I’ve worked closely with diverse student populations, helping individuals navigate pathways into education and supporting their success from first contact through to program entry.
I’m known for my strong interpersonal skills and ability to build meaningful connections with students, colleagues, and community partners. I’m passionate about creating accessible, student-centered systems that reflect the evolving needs of learners and the communities Okanagan College serves. My professional background has given me a deep understanding of enrolment trends, barriers to access, and the importance of responsive, inclusive decision-making within academic environments.
I’m committed to bringing a thoughtful, collaborative approach to the Education Council, with a focus on transparency, equity, and student success. Outside of my work at °µÍøTV, I spend my time herding my four cats and attending as many live music shows as I can throughout the Okanagan region. I’m excited about the opportunity to contribute my experience and perspective to help shape policies and programs that support both current and future students at Okanagan College!
Spring Elections - Board of Governors - Student Representative (Elected by Acclamation)
Siofra Kilroy
I am a third-year student here at Okanagan College in the BBA degree program. Originally from Ireland, I moved to the Okanagan in 2021 as an international student. I completed a Master’s in Art Business in New York and held a career in the fine art world and art auction house industry before moving here.
My current interest is community and social endeavours, which aligns with my current area of study at °µÍøTV. I am grateful for the opportunity to represent our student body on the board and feel I can bring a lot to the table. Having lived the °µÍøTV pathway for the last three years, I look forward to carrying that experience into the role along with my previous life experience.
Building that connection between the student body and the board is a collaboration that builds a community central to all of °µÍøTV’s mission, and allows students to become agents in their own futures.

Hello all! My name is Luka, I'm a second-year student at °µÍøTV and resident of Salmon Arm. I've long advocated for more egalitarian and accessible post-secondary education, and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve our communities more directly as a student representative.
There has never been a point in human history where the need for a well-educated, well-connected population has been so great, and my goal is to use every tool available to organize and fight for our right to access these invaluable resources. People before Profit!
Education Council Spring Election - Student Seats (Elected by Acclamation)
Shirelle Nickoli (North Okanagan Seat)
I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to continue serving on the Education Council (EDCO). Over the past year, I have worked to ensure student perspectives are meaningfully represented, and I am honored that I can now continue that work.
During my time on EDCO, I have developed a strong understanding of its responsibilities—including academic policy, program development, and representing the student voice in institutional decision-making. Being elected for another term allows me to build on this experience and continue advocating effectively for all students.
My goal remains to strengthen communication between the student body and EDCO, ensuring your concerns and ideas are clearly represented and addressed. I remain committed to being approachable, engaged, and informed, and I will continue to prioritize student interests while supporting the academic integrity and growth of °µÍøTV Thank you for your trust and support!

My name is Malachi Gossen; I am a first-year Associate of Science student entering my second year of the program. I am pleased to be continuing my work on the Education Council for the upcoming term.
Having served as a student representative for the 2025 school year, I was able to provide meaningful representation for the student body, and I am grateful for the opportunity to continue doing so. As a student representative, I will do my best to ensure that course and curriculum changes favor the student first!
Education Council Spring Election - Student Seats (Elected by Acclamation)
Jade Ilkiw (South Okanagan Similkameen Seat)
My name is Jade Ilkiw, and I am in the Business Administration diploma program at Okanagan College's Salmon Arm campus. I am honored to serve as a student representative for our community.
Initially, I struggled with the transition to being an adult student; however, by trusting the process, I expanded my learning skills and acquired valuable tools that have significantly enhanced my academic journey. I have completed courses in marketing, professional writing, financial accounting, and Canadian business, building a solid foundation in key business concepts that I am eager to apply in this role.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the engaging atmosphere in my classes and the collaboration with fellow students. As your representative, I aim to advocate for my peers and promote equality within our college community. I believe in the power of collaboration and communication to address student concerns and create a supportive environment for everyone at °µÍøTV
